stories of your life and others - ted chiang

Después llegó Story of your life.

Story of your life
There is no easy way (can't find it) to talk about the beauties of this short-novel without spoiling it.
As soon as you realize all the emphasis on which things we consider plain and simple and which others as complex, you start getting this feeling that every idea on every paragraph must be taken in -at least- two ways. To realize that -the discovery of- the story of your life is at your disposal every time you breath, leaves you without thoughts.

Understand
After the second page (kindle version) I've realize that I was reading the foundations for Lucy (2014), which I have already saw and enjoyed a little. I thought that could restrict my surprise factor. Not even close.
The beauty of this novel relates a little bit to Story of your life on the importance of the language. Parenthesis: are you aware that there is no clear definition for language in the world?. This novel explores the power of the language in such a way, that it becomes an entity, a character by itself. While reading this, you will start "hearing" the title again and again, stronger each time.

The lifecycle of software objects
You could tell this novel is about AI, Social Networks or relationships in general. This was probably the less amazing one, but it gave me a good perspective for those three things. I have enjoyed it just as a really good romcom. I got some laughs especially when the characters are doing sacrifices or jeopardizing their own relationships.
